Pyhän Asteli resort is located in the Pyhä-Luosto tourist area, near Pyhätunturi. The tourist area of Pyhä-Luosto is located between the highways, road 4 and road 5 that cross the whole of Finland. It takes 28 minutes (approx. 36 km) to the road 4 and 20 minutes (approx. 21 km) to the road.
Pyhän Asteli is about 5 km from the center of Pyhä and the nearest ski slopes (Northern slopes) are only 1.5 km away. The lighted ski trail starts right in Asteli's yard, and you can rent cross-country skiing equipment at the respa.
The beautiful sandy lake Pyhäjärvi is on the other side of the road, about 400 meters from Asteli. In the summer, you can rent a rowing boat from Asteli, and in the winter, Pyhäjärvi beach is the perfect place to observe the northern lights. Remember to download Pyhä Aurora Alert to your smartphone and you will be alerted of the northern lights (in operation from September to March). There is also a hut with a fireplace on the beach.
In the summer, mountain bike trails start from Asteli's yard and continue all the way to Pyhä-Luosto National Park.
